About the practice
One practice, three disciplines, one point of contact.
M@dministratie is the practice of Niek Maes. Financial operations, compliance and the systems behind them meet here — not as a broad service catalogue, but because the problems that genuinely matter sit exactly on the seam between those three.
Why that combination
An administration that has fallen behind is rarely only an administrative problem. A compliance finding is rarely only a policy problem. And a system that does not do what the organisation needs is almost never only a technical problem.
When those three sit with different parties, every question gets translated before anything changes — and precisely the context that was needed disappears on the way. That does not happen here, because analysis, setup and execution stay in the same hands.
There is nobody to refer you on to. That is the premise, not an afterthought.
Three disciplines, one file
Not three departments handing work to each other, but one picture in which they act on one another.
- 01Finance and controlAdministration, close, reporting and their continuity through change.
- 02Compliance and remediationFrom policy to steps that can be carried out, with files that stay traceable.
- 03Systems and dataSetup, integrations, document flows and reporting lines that stay explainable.
What that means in practice
- You get a direct answer from the person who knows the work.
- Finance, compliance and technology are considered together, not in sequence.
- Advice does not end at a presentation — it has to hold up in daily work.
- Automation supports the contact; it does not replace it.
- Boundaries are stated up front, including when that makes an engagement smaller.
- What is delivered can be handed over — to your team or to a successor.
- Work is hybrid and remote, from Zeeland, for clients across the Netherlands.
- One point of contact, from first conversation to handover.
Background
The career behind this runs from operational finance and team leadership into financial control, banking remediation and data and systems transformation — at organisations where the demands on control and accountability are high.
That background is kept short here on purpose. It matters once there is a concrete engagement on the table; not as a reason to work with this practice. That reason should come out of the conversation itself.
A conversation says more than this page
Put the situation as it actually is. You will get an honest answer about what is needed — including when that is less than you thought.
